Semba Fever in London!

Have you ever heard of a music and dance style called SEMBA?

If you haven't, then continue reading:

Semba is one of the most popular musical style in  Angola, one of the 8 Countries members of the CPLP (Portuguese Language Speaking Community), a country with more than 17 million inhabitants and very likely to be the 5th biggest economy in the African Continent by 2014 according to Alves da Rocha, an Angolan economist
(see original article here).

Semba is the predecessor to a variety of music styles originated from Africa, of which three of the most famous are Samba (from Brazil),Kizomba (Angolan style of music derived directly from Zouk music from the French Caribbean islands) and Kuduro (or Kuduru, energetic, fast-paced Angolan Techno/House music, so to speak). The singer Carlos Burity argues that the oldest structure is located in Semba Massemba (belly buttom), a dance characterized by movements that involve the meeting of the body of man with the woman, the gentleman holds the lady by the waist and pulls her to him causing a collision between the two (Semba).
